Who’s behind Streetpeople

This blog is managed by AMAIDI Volunteering in India. Our primary aim is to help international volunteers and interns find a suitable placement with an Indian org to volunteer, work or study. Having been around in India for more than a decade, we feel that we can’t just stand at the side-line. looking at the good work our volunteers and interns are doing. We feel that we have to actively engage in the promotion of certain pressing social issues, especially issues that are denied a proper place on the public government’s agenda, like streetpeople.

AMAIDI Volunteering in India has a nation wide network of project partners, most of them NGO’s, involved in grass-roots development work in villages and towns, particularly in slum-areas. A number of them are involved in helping out children who live on the streets, adult mentally challenged street people and women, most vulnerable to abuse and misuse while living in the open.
